I like the intensity of his expression, and his stance certainly says that he means (serious) business. Pretty solid choices for the colors, too, plus the faux deckled edge is a nice touch. The anatomy does seem a little unnatural, but the first thing thing that struck me as something you could improve is the treatment of cloth. A few references would definitely be helpful in these areas.

Well - chickenfingers said it. Anatomy, clothes - try to find references or lear from observation. I'll just add that you should work more with colors - I mean to mix them. You have a green background but it doesn't seem to affect your character in anyway.
I like the movement at your picture and his face expression - looks good and original. Good work on details too
